WeLeave very early from Cusco, we’ll go to Mollepata to meet the arrieros (horse handlers)and have breakfast there too. Our first Campsite is at Soraypampa.
Day 2
:
WewillCross Soraypampa, then turn east into the Vilcabamba range. We’ll Hike up on the southwest side of the Salkantay moraine to a high pass called Portachuelo de Salkantay. The route then descends towards the Amazon basin and campsite in the Andean valley of Huayracmachay where we have lunch and then we continue to get to our second campsite colpapampa. Late in the afternoon we can enjoy a refreshing bath in the hotsprings.
Day 3
:
we’llFollow the route through the remote region of the Vilcabamba range that the Incas used as a refuge from the conquistadors. We’ll continue to get to playa sawayaco, where we’ll have our lunch, This rich tropical valley has plantations of oranges, avocados, bananas, granadillas, coffee and sugar cane. After saying good-bye to the arrieros and then late in the afternoon we’ll take a bus to take us to our third campsite Santa Teresa. in there we can enjoy also of the hotsprings
Day 4
:
we’ll cross the Oroya on a cable car and from the other side of the river we’ll walk for about 2 hours to get to the train station, we will have lunch in there and then we’ll take the train which we’ll take us on a 45 minutes journey to get to Aguas Calientes, the town below Machupicchu.
Day 5
:
After an early morning breakfast, we will go up very early to see the sunrise in Machupicchu and have our most expectative guided tour in the citadel of Machupicchu and now called new 7 Wonders in the world. We will visit famous sites like the Temple of the Seven Windows, the Intiwatana, Temple of the Condor and Temple of the Sun. then in the afternoon at the properly time we will go back to Cusco.
