Alexa’s Cusco Trek has been One of Peru’s Leading Tour Operator Agency since 1998. Our Services
Transportation & Orientation:Alexa’s Cusco Trek is in charge of airport and station pick-ups, using private transportation. Excursions of 12 or more passengers use buses equipped with a bathroom (depending on availability). We also see to registration and accommodation at hotels in addition to tipping airport porters. While enjoying a hot beverage, passengers will receive a briefing about the visit itinerary, appropriate clothing/climate, where to shop, change money, etc. Everyone receives a hand-out with important telephone numbers and a map showing restaurants, airlines offices etc. Adventure trips also includes a briefing session with the guide.

Groups & Tours: Alexa’s Cusco Trek prefers smaller groups, maximum 16 passengers. The reason for this is to minimize the impact on both the physical and cultural environment In addition, smaller groups more easily interact with the local people (and vice versa). Tours are conducted in a private vehicle with a bilingual English/Spanish guide (other languages available on request). All entrances fees are included. Full-day tours include lunch (no meals for half day tours).

Guides & Support Staff: Peru is a diverse country. For this reason Alexa’s Cusco Trek employs local guides who know well the local customs of the region. Of course, they speak various languages German and French with English being the most common. Our guides have advanced degrees in tourism and have taken courses in first-aid and rescue too. Many of them have worked outside of Peru. Alexa’s Cusco Trek has an extensive behind-the-scenes staff. These are the un-sung heroes who ensure that all facets of the trip run smoothly. Confirmations: In order to confirm programs for groups or individual passengers, Alexa’s Cusco Trek requires the following information:

• full name of passenger(s)
• nationality
• passport numbers
• age
• occupation
• medical histories and dietary restrictions
• addresses and telephone numbers
• special interests / needs
• all flight schedules
• rooming list

Reservations: In order to make reservations, Alexa’s Cusco Trek requires an initial deposit equal to 70% of the total package price 45 days before arrival, with the balance (30%) due on arrival. Payments should be done by credit cards format or by western union (click on Booking icon or contact us for payment instructions).

After Making Reservations: Upon receipt of payment we'll send you a detailed itinerary, waiver form, medical advice, list of suggested equipment, visa requirements, hotel description, recommended reading list, maps, money exchange information, weather considerations and other useful tips.

Single Supplement: Prices are based on double room occupancy. Single accommodations can be arranged for an extra charge. This includes single tents on trekking trips.

Insurance: All passengers are required to sign a standard waiver form but beginning any and all trips. We also recommend a short-term traveler's insurance policy covering accidents, baggage lose, emergency evacuation, etc. Any expenses resulting from flight delays, schedule changes, missed connections, sickness, and trip delays due to bad weather, trail conditions, strikes, natural disasters, cancellations or acts of God will be assumed by the passenger through their traveler's insurance. We'll provide any and all documentation (where possible) needed for insurance re-imbursement.

Emergency Care: In case of accident or illness, Alexa’s Cusco Trek through the group leader, will provide aid and arrange evacuation when necessary. Cost of specialized means of evacuation (helicopters, etc.) and medical care beyond basic first-aid are not the financial responsibility of Alexa’s Cusco Trek (see waiver form for complete details).

Personal Equipment: Each participant must bring the equipment required for the program. Alexa’s Cusco Trek supplies a detailed list of the necessary equipment and clothing, as well as the equipment provided by the company.

Cancellations: Effective August 1, 2006 payment forfeitures (and/or applicable refunds) for cancelled trips will depend on the date Alexa’s Cusco Trek receives notice of the cancellation. The schedule is as follows:

• 45 days or more before departure date: no forfeit ( Except Inca Trail Program - $125 ).
• 44 - 25 days before the program departure date: forfeit 40% of total package price.
• 24 - 10 days before the program departure date: forfeit 70% of total package price.
• 9 - 0 days before the program departure date: forfeit 100% of total package price.

No Shows: Alexa’s Cusco Trek will retain the entire deposit and not be held responsible for cancelled or delayed flights. Alexa’s Cusco Trek reserves the right to modify or change any program itinerary to ensure client safety. The company does not accept any responsibility for bad treatment (damage) to equipment, loss, accident, unforeseen costs, unavoidable delays, services provide by intermediaries, nor direct or indirect acts which are out the company's control.

Conditions Regarding Hotels:• Hotel prices include “American” or buffet breakfast, depending on the category.

• All extra requests (telephone calls, laundry, room service etc.) will incur additional costs.
• Prices listed by Alexa’s Cusco Trek are guaranteed and re-evaluated yearly.
