Marianne and I wish to provide this unsolicited letter of thanks to Alexander Castillo and his staff. In May of 2007 we travelled to Peru and were well aware of all the warnings found in the travel Web Sites and in Lonely Planet. After spending a wonderful week in Lima and along the Southern coast we headed into the Andes we were travelling on our own as this has been our preferred mode of discovery for 35 yers whle travelling in Europe, Africa, Mexico,USA and Canada.
We were fortunate to come across Alex and his beautiful daughter in Areoguipa. As a result of talking to him we realized that by following our own itinerary we would have missed many attractions in Peru and further would spend more money too see the same sites.
Our judgement was correct and a wonderful trip to Peru was greatly enhanced by booking the remainder of our trip with Alex and Alexa's Cusco Trek agency.
We had one of the most exciting holidays of our lives and are planning to return soon, the mountains, the Inca buildings, the Spanish Architecture were just part of what made our trip so enjoyable.
Oh yes, the safety, we folowed all the suggestions and experienced only beautiful people.

Passengers’ Recommendations about Trekkings and tours
first, i wanted to thank our guide Brayam for his wonderful guideness on this 4 day trek. He was very Professional and helpful at all times ( inclusive at 3:30 am waking up us for breakfast) always positive. He was great to trek with, Machupicchu was the highlight of the trip. this tour gave it even more meaning.
As for other parts of the trek. Food was ok, Lomo Saltado delicious. tents camp, meals were always prepared efficiently, i enjoyed my time, both guides are excellent soccer players too.

Myself and a friend did the 4 days tour Salkantay with Alexa’s Cusco Trek Tour Agency. There was a group of only 7 of us altogether and the whole tour was excellent, the food was really good - better than i expected given the difficult cooking conditions and there was always more than enough. Lunch on the second day beside a maintain stream at the base of Salkantay was a highlight. The guides Freddy and Antonio were excellent, constantly planning ahead and they were very clear about what we would have to do when the group decided to change our plan on day 3, Freddy and Antonio did everything they could to make this happen.
The tents and sleeping mats were both in very good conditions.
I was very impressed and surprised by the atentions to detail shown by Alex and the guides. the hotel in Aguas Calientes Machupicchu was lovely and it was great to be collected by Alex himself in a taxi from the train station in Ollantaytambo and dropped right at the hostel door.
The trek was a highlight of my trip to South America, i would highly recommend Alexa’s Cusco Trek Agency.

we did the Salkantay trek with Alex. We were offered the trip in 4 days because we were only there for a few days, i’d really recommend taking this option. Where you take the bus from playa sahuayaco to the hydroelectric plant train station and the train straight to Aguas Calientes if you are short of time.
Our guides were helpful- they were really flexible with regard to speed, fitness and short cuts along the way and they also were great when some of our group decided to change from the 5 day to the 4 day option. The cooks were really great- they even woke up us in the morning with a cup of coca leaves tea- we didn’t expect breakfast in bed, hahaha. We got snacks along the way to help us over the steep parts and the dinners were really tasty. The scenary is really beautiful and there’s a great sense of achievement at the end of every day.
We got lots of information when we got to machupicchu which was really interesting.
Thanks alex and our guides for a great time
